Richard R. Orsinger Named Among Top Five Family Law Attorneys in Texas

(San Antonio) - Texas Lawyer newspaper, the state's only independent newspaper dedicated to Texas law and attorneys, has named Richard R. Orsinger as one of the top five family law attorneys in Texas.

The Oct. 15 publication lists the top five lawyers in 27 practice areas. Texas has more than 65,000 lawyers, which makes those named to the newspaper's list of "top notch" lawyers, members of a very elite group. The paper compiled the list by taking nominations, doing its own research and talking to hundreds of lawyers across the state about whom they would want to represent them.

"I am flattered to be named to this list," says Mr. Orsinger, who maintains an office in San Antonio. "The respect of the judges, your clients and your peers is the only true way to measure your success as a lawyer."

One observer described Mr. Orsinger as "unquestionably the most brilliant divorce lawyer in the world. He has no competitor there."

Mr. Orsinger is a highly regarded as both a great family lawyer and a great appellate lawyer. Mr. Orsinger has served as Chair of the State Bar's Family Law Section. He is also a former Chair of the State Bar's Appellate Section and a long-term member of the Civil Appellate Specialization Exam Committee. In addition, he has written a 900-page treatise on civil appellate procedure.

In addition to his work on behalf of clients, Mr. Orsinger is also one of Texas' most civic-minded attorneys. He is former Chair of the State Bar's Continuing Legal Education Committee, has been Course Director of a number of State Bar CLE courses, and has served on several Texas Supreme Court-appointed committees aimed at improving family law and the administration of justice. He is a prolific writer and speaker who spends much of his time educating fellow lawyers and judges.
