Family Law Attorney at McCurley Orsinger In San Antonio Earns Board Certification SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Already recognized as one of San Antonio's top young attorneys, Amber Liddell Alwais recently added another distinction to her resume by becoming Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Alwais is an associate in the San Antonio office of the Family Law firm McCurley Orsinger McCurley Nelson & Downing, L.L.P. In order to earn board certification, she achieved specific requirements set by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and passed a day-long written examination that focused on Family Law matters. "We're extremely proud of Amber for having earned this distinction," says Richard R. Orsinger, a name partner in the firm and head of the San Antonio office. "Once she announced she was starting the process there was no doubt in my mind she would have little difficulty in qualifying for Board Certification. It is not an easy process, but she is an incredibly talented and dedicated attorney." Ms. Alwais previously has been honored on the Texas Rising Stars listing published in Texas Monthly magazine by Law & Politics Media, and she has been selected to the San Antonio's Top Attorneys list by Scene in SA Magazine. In 2003, Ms. Alwais was named the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the Women's Bar Association of Bexar County. A former staff attorney for the Civil District Judges of Bexar County, Ms. Alwais earned her law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, and her undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She also currently serves as an instructor at The University of Texas at San Antonio and San Antonio College.
