BUSINESS REAL ESTATE Steve Brown A downtown family law firm is moving its operations to a new building in North Dallas. McCurley Orsinger McCurley Nelson & Downing L.L.P. has leased 14,732 square feet of space in the new 5950 Sherry Lane tower on the Dallas North Tollway in Preston Center. The law firm currently has its offices in the Renaissance Tower on Elm Street in the central business district. Firm senior partner Mike McCurley said a downtown location wasn't important for his company. "Our clients aren't banks or law firms or government agencies," he said. "Our clients are real people, and one of our jobs is to make their lives easier. We think this move will do that." Trammell Crow Co. is building the Preston Center office tower. The law firm will make the move in December, occupying the eighth floor. SALES A partnership assembled by Cencor Realty Services has purchased 13.5 acres at the northwest corner of Preston Road and Warren Parkway in Frisco. The retail development site is near the Stonebriar Mall under construction. American Realty Trust sold the property. Weitzman Group negotiated the sale. Two local investors sold a 40,655-square-foot retail development site at E. Pioneer Parkway in Grand Prairie to H.K.P. Inc. A 12,000- square-foot retail strip will be built on the site. David Frazior and Chuck Precopia of Paramount Investment Corp negotiated the sale. Commercial Propane Inc. purchased from a local investor a 57,750- square-foot office and warehouse building on 1.27 acres at 2357 Houston St. in Grand Prairie for its business operations. The sale was negotiated by Chuck Precopia of Paramount Investment Corp. Huemmer-Near Properties L.P. has bought a 25,000 square-foot office-warehouse facility at 8221 Chancellor Row in Dallas for the distribution of electrical parts. Margie Huemmer of Ebby Halliday Realtors negotiated the sale with Tony F. Todora of Todora Commercial Properties. Eminent Investment Corp. has purchased 1.65 acres at the southeast corner of Preston Road and State Highway 190 for construction of a Microtel Inn and Suites. Jay G. Holman of Darrow Group handled negotiations for the transaction. Charter Drywall, a building products distributor, has acquired 11,841 square feet out of 38,000 square feet of land, at 11501 Dennis Road in Dallas. Dan Spika of Henry S. Miller Commercial arranged the sale. A local investment group recently purchased Park Creek Manor Apartments, a 322-unit complex in the Oak Cliff area. Billy Graham and Jeff Ratliff of Olympic Commercial Realty Inc. negotiated the sale with Sam Lewis of Marcus and Millichap Inc. Kwik Industries bought 36,000 square feet of land at the northeast corner of Marsh and Spring Valley in Addison from Ryan's Family Steakhouses. A Dry Clean Super Center will be located on the site. David English of Corrigan Real Estate Services negotiated the sale with Linda Bardin. LEASE The Urban Alternative has leased 10,367 square feet in Oak Cliff Tower owned by Presidio Investment Ltd. Eddie Freeman of Staubach Corp. arranged the lease with Daniel M. Bobric of L&D Realty Partners. Seniors First has leased 7,900 square feet of commercial space at 2438 Butler St. in Dallas. Dough McCutchin with Henry S. Miller Commercial arranged the lease with Tim O. Terrell of Stream Realty Partners. American Woodmark Corp. has leased 9,884 square feet of space at the Skyway Corporate Center, 3101 Skyway Circle North in Irving. Transwestern Commercial Services agent Dianne Medlyn arranged the lease with Steve Little of Corporate Realty Advisors. Smith System Driver Improvement Institute Inc., a subsidiary of CNA, has leased 9,560 square feet of office space at Benchmark Office Park at 2201 Brookhollow Plaza Drive in Arlington. The lease was handled by Melanie Hughes of Huff, Brous, McDowell Management Inc. and Kim Wilkerson of Henry S. Miller Commercial. MasTec North America Inc. has signed a long-term lease for approximately one acre of land with an 8,000-square-foot building at 2716 S. Rigsbee in Plano. MasTec provides telecommunication construction services. Lease negotiations were handled by Jim Lob of L&D Realty Partners. Metro Bank Corp. of Houston has leased land and a building at 3500 W. Walnut Road from Jupiter Walnut Associates for a new branch bank. Larry Fellman handled the sale with Jennifer Chen representing the bank. International Business Case Corp. has leased 8,333 square feet of warehouse space at Plano Crossing Business Center, 1500 Precision Drive in Plano. Serpro Inc. has signed a lease on an 8,462-square-foot facility at 2120 Hutton Drive in Carrollton from Pollock Realty Corp. Iatros Health Network Inc. has leased 5,034 square feet of office space in Travis Walk, at 4514 Travis St. in Dallas, for its corporate offices. Jose A. Jason's Deli has leased 5,000 square feet of retail space in Twin Creeks Village, a shopping center under construction at the northwest corner of North Central Expressway and McDermott Road in Allen.
